Wondering how to make hard boiled eggs easy to peel? Old eggs are easier to peel than fresh eggs. Here are tips for boiling and peeling boiled eggs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 eggs (older eggs peel easier than fresh eggs)

Instructions

  1. Steam the eggs or cook them in an Instant Pot. Go to Steamed Hard Boiled Eggs or Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs.
  2. Place the eggs into an ice bath: a large bowl with cold water and several ice cubes. Leave the eggs for about 15 minutes until they are cool.
  3. To peel the eggs, lightly tap the larger end of the egg so that the shell crushes. (The larger bottom end of the egg has an air bubble, which makes it easier to crush the shell.)
  4. Then start to peel off the shell. Continue peeling the shell until all the pieces are removed.
