Place the rice in a saucepan with the water (don’t rinse it or the color will fade!) Bring it to a boil, then reduce to simmer. Cover and cook 15 to 20 minutes until water is absorbed.
Remove from the heat. Allow to stand for 5 minutes, covered. Then fluff it with a fork! The texture will be moist and sticky.
Add a few more pinches of salt. If desired, season with 2 tablespoons butter and serve immediately. (Adding chopped fresh herbs is tasty as a side dish!)
